The Beachdogs: Justin Eisenband, Team Sponsor & Boca Hoopster
Sponsor Bio: My name is Justin Eisenband and I have been playing in the Boca Hoops basketball league and attending Boca Hoops summer and vacation camps since I was eight years old. Basketball and Hoops are a very important part of my life. My older brother, who is now almost 16 years old, also started playing in the league at eight years old, and my dad has been coaching in Boca Hoops for just as long.
When I found out that my uncle Gary Cohen, was working so hard to start a new division of Boca Hoops, called the ãHigh-5 Divisionä, it was a few months before my Bar Mitzvah, which was held in April. ãHigh-5ä is a division designed to enable children with disabilities to participate in the game of basketball, with the help of a B-Ball Buddy. The athletes would be able to experience the enjoyment of the game as part the Boca Hoops Family.
I decided that for my Mitzvah Project, which is part of becoming a Bar Mitzvah, I would sponsor a team in the new ãHigh-5 Divisionä of Boca Hoops. Since basketball is one of my favorite things to do, I wanted to help children with disabilities to have the opportunity to experience the game that my family and I love and enjoy so much. I wrote a letter to my guests and asked that they help me with my sponsorship, and several people were happy to help me. The name of the team will be the ãBeachdogsä and I am very excited that my friends, family and I had the opportunity to help sponsor this new team.
Thanks Boca Hoops for being such an important part of my life. I am that I was able to give something back to the league in this small way.
